Leading RF and Optical Semiconductor Components and Solutions are Now Available for Advanced Space Communications Systems.

MACOM is expanding its RF and optical product portfolios to meet the growing demand for satellite-based internet and advanced communication services. 

MACOM’s optical products enable high speed data transfer whether by Free Space Optic (FSO) links or fiber optic transmission on board the satellite.  MACOM provides a full range of solutions throughout the value chain, from chip-level components to highly integrated multi-function modules.    The newest addition to our portfolio, a high power optical amplifier, OPTO-AMP ™ will utilize amplifier design techniques and materials which have been proven to withstand harsh space environments.

MACOM has a proven track record as a supplier to global LEO, GEO and MEO satellite manufacturers across that require products that can withstand the harsh environment of space.

MACOM Announces Plans to Produce Larger Wafers, Expand US Manufacturing and Add Advanced Technology with CHIPS Act Support

MACOM is pleased to announce its preliminary, strategic long-term investment plan to modernize its Massachusetts and North Carolina semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities. This initiative, which is expected to be supported by funding from both U.S. Department of Commerce CHIPS and Science Act and the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, once finalized will help strengthen our domestic semiconductor production capabilities and accelerate our growth strategy.

MACOM Expands MMIC and Module Portfolio with Acquisition of ENGIN-IC

Founded in 2014 by RF and microwave industry veterans, ENGIN-IC develops advanced GaAs and GaN-on-SiC MMICs and integrated microwave assemblies and has been dedicated to fulfilling the needs of the aerospace and defense industry since its inception. ENGIN-IC expands MACOM’s existing high frequency MMIC and module design capabilities with its team of industry-leading MMIC designers, a product portfolio of 60+ standard and custom designs and strategic locations near customers in Texas and California. The combination of ENGIN-IC’s exceptional wideband and high efficiency MMIC design expertise with MACOM’s manufacturing scale and expertise in GaN, will enable us to better support customers with a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge solutions to meet current and evolving market demands.
